Coughy used in clinical study to characterize cough symptoms in ILD was presented at ERS 2023

Our AI-based cough monitoring solution, Coughy is being utilized in clinical studies to help researchers characterize cough symptoms in respiratory diseases. One of the studies was presented this week in Milan, Italy at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress.

The study evaluated the cough characteristics and quality of life of patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD) and showed that the ILD patients experience more cough symptoms during daytime than nighttime. Nocturnal cough and poor quality of life exhibited a correlation with decreased diffusing capacity of lung to transfer gas to the bloodstream.

With Coughy, the study did not require any special recording device other than smartphone and made cough analysis less labor-intensive thanks to AI analytics.
